We need a self-motivated individual to fill the following vacancy that exists at our Regional Office in Johannesburgh.  This position offers great growth potential.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and organized Warehouse Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for controlling steel and asset inventory, receiving, storing, and dispatching goods, as well as performing cycle counts and maintaining accurate records. This role is critical to ensuring the efficient operation of our warehouse and meeting the needs of our retail group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and inspect incoming steel and asset deliveries, verifying quantities and checking for damages or discrepancies
  • Store and organize inventory in a safe and secure manner, following established warehouse procedures
  • Dispatch goods to various retail locations, ensuring accurate and timely delivery
  • Conduct regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and identify any discrepancies
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory 
  • Perfrom other duties as required to support the warehouse operation

Minimum Requirements

  • Perform other duties as required to support the warehouse operation
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management principles and practices
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems
  • Physical ability to lift, bend, and move heavy objects (up to 25kg)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certification or degree an advantage

Working Conditions:

  • The role is based in a warehouse environment, with regular exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures
  • The warehouse operates Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends and overtime as required
  • The successful candidate will be required to wear personal protective equipment
