A small ducky, a big difference!
At The Crazy Store, we're crazy for our customers, we're crazy for our merchandise, we're crazy about low prices, and we're crazy about our duck. So, it only seems natural that we introduce this truly amazing concept and give back to those in need with a little help from our ducks and customers.
In April 2014, The Crazy Store partnered with The Friends of the Children's Hospital Association (FOCHA) – which is the fundraising arm of The Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital in Cape Town – to help raise funds in our stores for this worthy organisation.
We started by introducing specially branded Collection Tins in all our stores (which is still on-going) and we are now embarking on another exciting initiative to further support this organisation.
The Crazy Store is introducing a selection of special Collectable Ducks for customers to purchase.
By purchasing one of these special ducks, customers will be donating 10% of the selling price (ex VAT) to The Friends of the Children's Hospital Association (FOCHA).
A little bit about the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital:
The Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital was built in 1956 and is the only stand alone, specialist children's hospital dedicated entirely to children in Southern Africa.
The Hospital is a public tertiary and secondary level hospital in Cape Town, South Africa and is dedicated to delivering word-class paediatric treatment, care, research and specialist training. As a referral hospital patients include very sick children who need highly complex interventions to recover.
A little bit about The Friends of the Children's Hospital:
The Friends of the Children's Hospital Association (FOCHA) is a voluntary support group to the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital that believes that physical and emotional healing work simultaneously. It seeks to provide amenities, assistance and care to the patients and families of the hospital.
Throughout our lives we all need friends – and even more so when one of our children are sick and in hospital. FOCHA is committed to helping make the hospital experience less traumatic for patients and their families. They do this by providing emotional support as well as practical assistance. Volunteers with brightly coloured toy trolleys filled with fun goodies visit the hospital wards giving love and comfort to sick children who are often scared and missing their families. Volunteering changes lives – for both the volunteers and the patients.
The Association depends solely on the support of the community. With your help they are able to provide a more comfortable stay for the children and their families at the hospital.

Remember, every bit helps and a small difference goes a long way!
